현대 소비사회에서 서열화되고 그에 따라 생성되는 무력감으로 정체성이 소멸되고,자신이 소외될까 두려워한다. 그로인해 기호적 소비를하고 그것이 자신의 정체성이라는 착각을하기도하는데 작가는 자신의 정체성을 확립하고 가치적 소비를통해 자신만의 행복의 기준을 정립하고자 한다.
